Joshua Ellis “Josh” Ayres, 49, of Washburn, Mo. passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, at his home.
He was born March 5, 1974, in Bentonville, Ark. the son of John Edward “Jack” and Wanda Sue (Periman) Ayres, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was one brother, Johnny Ayres; one sister, Tammy Nickle and a close cousin, Shane Kisler.
Survivors include his wife, Elisha Lahr; one son, Dakota Bevan of Springdale, Ark.; five brothers, Steven Gilster of Baudette, Minn., Mike Borgmeier of Bentonville, Ark., Scott Gilster and his wife Helen of Argyle, Minn., Curt Ayres and his wife Sherry of Hindsville, Ark. and Walker Bollinger and his wife Heather of Washburn, Mo.; six sisters, Cathy Wall and her husband Max of Pineville, Mo., Linda Southwood and her husband Randy of Springdale, Ark., Sherry Hernandez of Rogers, Ark., Anna Butts and her husband James of Washburn, Mo., Tammy Jo Carnes of Little Rock, Ark. and Kandice Riffe and her husband Chris of Cassville, Mo.; one brother- in-law, Joseph Lahr and his wife Ashley of Springfield, Mo.; one sister- in-law, Kritha Fisher and her husband Tony of Pineville, Mo.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and his fur baby, Shotgun.
He grew up in southwest Mo. attending school in Cassville and Purdy. He was a carpenter and had worked in construction for several years and also worked in the food industry as a cook.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
