Robert Allan “Bob” Slane, 83, of Exeter, Mo. passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at his home.

HewasbornDecember 31, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Cecil and Bessie (Bourke) Slane.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Ickes; are three sons, Danny Ickes and his wife Mary of Fremont, Ohio, Daryl Ickes and his wife Shelly of Washburn, Mo. and Brian Slane of Cassville, Mo.; two daughters, Shelley Jones of Exeter, Mo. and Bessie Storch and her husband Daniel of Napoleon, Ohio; one brother, Scott Slane and his wife Stephanie of Clyde, Ohio; two sisters, Cecilia Slane of Fremont, Ohio and Nancy Bartlett and her husband Bob of Fremont, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Randy Slane and Joseph Slane and two sisters, Beverly Stull and Joyce Goodwin.

He grew up and attended school in Fremont, Ohio. He and Sharon moved to this area in 1976. Bob owned and operated R & S Tree Service for over 30 years from where he retired.

Graveside services were held Monday, April 8, 2024 at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Mo., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Brother Dayton Brattin conducted the services.
