On April 24, Cassville High School senior Audrey Gosvener was just going to Taco Bell for a burrito.
Instead, Cassville school staff, Gosvener’s family, friends and Taco Bell coworkers were gathered to congratulate her on a $10,000 accomplishment.
Among a crowd of about 20, Chris Robinson, area coach for Taco Bell, surprised Gosvener with the news she had been awarded a $10,000 scholarship from the Taco Bell Foundation Round Up Program, renewable for up to four years with annual application.
‘We’re so proud of Audrey and incredibly happy for her,’ said Tyler Willis, Cassville High School principal. ‘I can’t wait to see how she uses this scholarship. She’s going to do big things and we’re thrilled she’s a Wildcat!’
Gosvener took the surprise in stride, calling those involved ‘sneaky’ for setting it up.
‘What do you think?’ Robinson asked her after the presentation.
‘I think I can go to college now,’ Gosvener replied.
After taking photos with the ceremonial check, the group was treated to cake and refreshments.
