Roaring River is clearing a bit.
It was 94 CFS on Sunday morning. Dry fly fishing is getting a bit better. Bigger beetles, small hoppers and stimulators did well the past For a few days, Caddis, Blue Wing Olives and midges are fishing well also. Nymphing has been very good. Pheasant tails, caddis larva, scuds, zebra midges.
Woolly Buggers in black, olive and brown were good all last week. Marabou jigs were good all week also in black/yellow, white, olive and tan. The 1/16 and 1/32 sizes worked the best.
Plastics were still working the best for a quick limit. Yellow, pink, white and orange seemed to be the best colors in the worms and the eggs.
Spinners were good mostly in the mornings. Black, metallic blue, and the metallic gold both were good.
In the murky waters, 2-pound line is best right now, but 4-pound is still doing ok. As the river falls, the 2-pound line will become much more important!
