Howell Roddy Lloyd, 79, passed away on June 2, 2024, at his home in Prairie Grove, Ark.
Born on September 2, 1944, in Houston, Texas, to Howell Thurston Roddy and Maidelle Jackie (Kendall) Lloyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H.T. Roddy and Jackie Lloyd.
Suriviors include his wife, Sharon (Jay) Lloyd; his children, Dustin Roddy Lloyd and Spencer Jay Lloyd, and Amanda Jean (Lloyd) Godwin, along with their respective spouses Mindy, Anslee, and Christopher; four grandchildren, and his brothers Jerry Randall Lloyd and Robert Sherrill Lloyd, and their spouses Ruth and Kathy.
He attended Beaumont High School in Texas, followed by earning his Business Management degree from the University of Texas in Arlington. His passion for service led him to join the Navy, where he served his country with honor during the Vietnam War.
His community involvement included serving as the Washington County Republican Committee Chairman, and Justice of the Peace for Washington County District 2, work as the Head of Security at Mercy and Grace Cathedral in Springdale and as an Educator and Bus Driver at Springdale and Prairie Grove Public Schools.
He was a devoted member of Mercy and Grace Cathedral.
Services were held Friday, June 7, 2024 at Mercy and Grace Cathedral in Springdale, Ark., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Mo. Pastor Euel Bilderback conducted the services. Burial with military honors was at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, Mo.
