Dema Roxie Stewart, 101 years, 11 months and 20 days, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett, Mo.

She was born on June 30, 1922, in Woodard Holler, near Washburn, Mo., the daughter of Wes and Elora (Haggard) Woodard, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Oren; her son, Steve Stewart, two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Flageolle and her husband Buford, of Aurora, Mo.; eight grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.

She was a 1940 graduate of Washburn High School. On September 13, 1943, she married Oren L. Stewart in Exeter, Mo. After the war ended, Oren and Dema lived in Calif. and then Phoenix, Ariz. While raising their family she also was employed with Attorneys and Title/Escrow Offices. After retirement they returned to Missouri. She attended Southside Baptist Church which she enjoyed enormously.

A private family burial will be held at Roller Cemetery in Washburn, Mo., under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral in Aurora, Mo.
