Drivers should watch for contractor crews making sidewalk improvements and working close to traffic in Purdy, Wheaton, Seligman and Cassville beginning the week of August 5, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Improvements include improving drainage, making landings, crosswalks, pedestrian signs and relocating a pedestrian crossing and pavement markings conform to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Here are the locations where the work will be done:
Cassville
• Business 37 (Main Street) between 8th Street and 17th Street
Purdy
Business 37 between Leslie Lane and Jefferson Street Barry County Route C between Missouri Route 37 and Gabby Gibbons Drive
Wheaton
Missouri Route 86 (Gilman Avenue) between Santee Street and Barry County Route A (Hurlbut Street)
Seligman
Business 37 between Leslie Lane and Jefferson Street Barry County Route C between Missouri Route 37 and Gabby Gibbons Drive
Traffic Impacts
• Drivers are urged to use caution and be aware of crews and equipment working close to traffic
• Work will be done during daytime hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday)
• Drivers may encounter occasional lane closures and flaggers in areas where crews are working
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zones
• No signed detours
• Drivers should find alternate routes around work zones
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
The prime contractor is Hartman & Company Inc., based in Springfield. The total cost is $867,000, and the completion date is Nov. 1.
