Gaming machine theft leads to charges

A Shell Knob woman and Cassville woman are each facing felony charges for allegedly stealing more than $2,500 from a gaming machine at a local gas station.

Marti McNabb, born 1994, of Shell Knob, and Jacqueline McNabb, born 1973, of Cassville, are both charged with felony stealing.

According to probable cause statements filed by Det. Stuart Lombard, with the Cassville police Department, on June 29, the pair entered a gas station within the city limits of Cassville, and Jacqueline McNabb sat down at a ‘no chance game’ and allegedly attempted to use a key to unlock the front of the machine.

Lombard said she then gave the key to Marti McNabb and watched for store employees as she used the key to unlock the machine and remove a cash drawer containing approximately $2,628 in cash.

Marti McNabb then allegedly concealed the drawer and currency under a shoulder bag as they both left the business.

Lombard said surveillance footage was key in obtaining the suspects’ identities.

Criminal summons have been issued for both women, with initial appearances set for Sept. 26 in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke. No bonds are listed, but an entry of appearance and motion for discovery has been filed on Jacqueline McNabb’s behalf by Attorney Morris Metter.
