Aurora man arrested after crash

An Aurora man was injured and subsequently arrested following a wreck at 12:15 p.m. Friday on Farm Road 1065, five miles east of Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jason Bass, 41, of Aurora, was driving a 2010 Nissan Frontier northbound when his vehicle drove off the left side of the roadway and struck three trees.

Bass and a passenger in his vehicle, Chase Cassity, 23, of Republic, each suffered serious injuries.

Bass was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, and Cassity was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Neither were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle was totaled.

According to a Patrol arrest report, Bass was charged at 1:15 p.m. with felony DWI – injury of another, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, and no seatbelt.

He was released for medical care.
