Phyllis Ann (Buckner) Atkinson

Phyllis Ann (Buckner) Atkinson, 73, of Cassville, Mo. passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers, Ark.

She was born in Keota, Okla., on December 21, 1950, the daughter of Alex and Jimmie Lee (Cagle) Buckner, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Clint Buckner and Charlie Buckner.

Survivors include her husband,  Buhel “Tommy” Atkinson; a son, Brian Atkinson and his wife Tina of Cassville, Mo.; one daughter, Tabitha Gray and her husband Toby of Exeter, Mo.; three brothers, David Buckner and his wife Clerisa, of Enterprise, Okla., Tommy Buckner and his wife Betty of Keota, Okla., and Elmer Buckner and his wife Tuti of Sallisaw, Okla,; two sisters, Carolyn Andrews of Stigler, Okla, and Patricia Mize of Stigler, Okla,; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild, with another one on the way, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She grew up in Keota, Okla., and completed her schooling, graduating from Keota High School. Phyllis was employed by Justin Boot as a cementer for many years, and later as a cook at Exeter Schools from where she retired.

She was a member of Community Faith Chapel.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Rick Cooper will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Phyllis.
