Barbara Helen “Meemz” Andrews

Barbara Helen “Meemz” Andrews, 88, of Cassville, Mo., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Cox Hospital in Monett, Mo.

Born on May 2, 1936, in Carthage, Mo., she was the daughter of Clifford and Thelma (Scantlin) Pace who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death was two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Andrews; five children: Cindy Steinmetz and her husband Mark of Pineville, La.; Joanie Winborne and her husband Steve of Clinton, Miss.i; Chris Andrews and his wife Dorothy of Valliant, Okla.; Scott Andrews and his wife LisaMarie of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Jennifer Evans and her husband Daron of Springfield, Mo., 12 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and a multitude of great-grandchildren.

She was born and raised in Carthage, Mo. After graduating from Carthage High School in 1954, she then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla. After starting her family, she dedicated herself to raising her children, returning to nursing once her youngest began school. She served at Doctors Hospital in Shreveport, La.; Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.; and South Barry County Hospital in Cassville, Mo.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cassville.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor James Weaver will conduct the services. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville, Mo.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Barbara.
