A house fire in Seligman on Oct. 14 resulted in the total loss of the structure and death of a pet.
According to the Seligman Fire Department, at 8:55 p.m., responders was dispatched to a mobile home on the east side of Harp’s, which was heavily involved while unites were in route.
“Crews battled hard to get the blaze out but there was multiple explosions from propane tanks, fire works and ammunition, and unfortunately the home was a total loss,” A Seligman Fire Department release said. “There was several obstacles we had to overcome on this fire that normally doesn’t happen.”
Due to the intensity of the blaze so quickly, the Washburn Fire Department was auto-aided. Seligman Police, city of Seligman employees, Barry County E9-1-1 Barry Electric Cooperative also provided assistance.
“This fire was very complicated and we all had to work as a team to get it out,” the release said. “[In addition to thanking the multiple agencies who assisted, we] also would like to send out a huge thank you to Anthony Raucstadt for bringing a trackhoe out to help us.”
Seligman Fire said units cleared the scene, and responders left the station at 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 15.
