Home Sports Third-grade Mighty Mites runners-up in Tournament of Third-grade Mighty Mites runners-up in Tournament ofNovember 12, 2024Sports After placing first in their division, the third-grade Cassville Wildcat Mighty Mite football team finished second at the Tournament of Champions in Harrison, Ark., falling to Seneca in the championship. On Saturday, the team earned a 12-6 win against Carthage, and in the championship on Sunday afternoon, after two lightning delays, the Wildcats suffered a 26-0 loss against the undefeated Indians. “After eating dust all year from the practice field, taking on any team that would play us even if they were older and fighting through lightning breaks and pouring rain, this group of first-year Wildcats fought their way through to the championship game,” said Head Coach Bobby Meek. “We are really proud of this group of boys, coaches and parents for all of their support and belief.” Pictured in the group photo, front row, from left: Kysen Fare, Ethan Anders, Mitchell Davidson, Beckett Stehlik, Titus Benton, Isiah Horton and DJ West.
