Cassville Pantry launches ‘Bless Your Neighbor’s Table’ campaign

The holiday season is a time for family, love, and gratitude, a time to gather around the table and share blessings.

Yet, for too many neighbors in Barry County, the table remains empty, said Janet Mills, Cassville Pantry director.

‘At Cassville Pantry, we’re witnessing record numbers of families struggling to meet basic needs, forced to make impossible choices between paying the electric bill or buying groceries,’ Mills said. ‘This heartbreaking reality has no place during a season defined by giving and togetherness.’

To help meet hunger needs in the area, the pantry is launching a ‘Bless Your Neighbor’s Table’ campaign, which is an invitation for the community to come together and make a tangible difference.

‘By donating just $25, you can provide a holiday meal for a family in need,’ Mills said. ‘You can make possible a meal that may otherwise never happen. Hunger in Barry County is closer than you think.

‘Did you know that 17% of individuals and 21% of children in our community don’t know where their next meal will come from? Even more sobering, 41% of our neighbors facing hunger have had to sacrifice heat, water, or electricity just to put food on the table.’

As the pantry seeks the community’s engagement, Mills said she is reminded of Sam Lefkowitz’s wise words: “When asked if my cup is half-full or half-empty, my only response is that I am thankful I have a cup.”

‘This sentiment encapsulates the mission of ‘Bless Your Neighbor’s Table,” she said. ‘We’re asking you to help fill the cups and plates of those who may not have anything at all, restoring dignity and hope to families during the holidays.’

Added to the campaign this year is an exciting opportunity to give back and win. For every $25 donation made to Cassville Pantry through Christmas, donors will earn a chance to win a Ninja Creami appliance valued at $215.

‘This raffle is our way of saying thank you for supporting our neighbors in need while bringing a little extra holiday cheer into your home,’ Mills said.

Donating is simple. People may visit www. cassvillepantry.com to give online, mail a contribution to Cassville Pantry at 800 W. 10th St. Cassville, MO 65625, or visit the facility in person.

‘Every $25 gift provides a holiday meal for a family, but any amount is deeply appreciated,’ Mills said. ‘Together, we can ensure every neighbor has a place at the table this holiday season. This year, help us embody the spirit of ‘Bless Your Neighbor’s Table,’ a movement rooted in love, generosity, and community care.

‘When you give, you’re not just providing food. You are lifting burdens, restoring hope, and creating memories that will last far beyond the holiday season.’
