Wesley John Strosahl

Wesley John Strosahl, age 95, departed this life on January 8, 2025, at home after an illness. He was born in Maynard, Iowa, on February 11, 1929, to Louis Strosahl and Bessie (Ford) Strosahl. Wesley proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

Following his military service, Wesley embarked on a successful career as a machinist with John Deere, where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 1983. In his retirement, he enjoyed horseback riding, farming, construction work, and lawn care, pursuits that reflected his love for the outdoors and hands-on work.

Wesley is survived by his daughter, Karen (Gary) Brosi; two grandchildren, Warren (Elizabeth) Brosi and Sheryl (Errick) Fuchs; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Kathryn, Wesley was preceded in death by his son, Wendell Strosahl; a brother, Harold Strosahl; two sisters, Emma Whalen and Beulah Shambough; and a grandson, Jacob Strosahl.

A visitation was held at First United Methodist Church in Monett on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service following at 2:15 p.m. Rev. Brian Smith and Rev. Warren Brosi officiated. Burial was at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Leech Cemetery in Illinois City, Illinois.
