On Feb. 19, the Barry County Judicial Center was closed due to hazardous road conditions and dangerously cold temperatures. During this time, a family noticed that the sidewalks had not been cleared and took it upon themselves to assist. “Despite the harsh conditions, with temperatures as low as 4 degrees, the Newman family stopped to clear the sidewalks and the entryway to the judicial center,” said Craig Williams, Barry County circuit clerk. “At a time when most children are enjoying their day off, Reece and Dylan Newman, along with their parents Rusty and Cortni Newman, selflessly worked together to ensure the safety and accessibility of the area. Their dedication to helping others, especially in such challenging conditions, is truly commendable. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Newman family for their generous and community-oriented actions.” Pictured are Reece, left. and his father, Rusty, in the midst of their contribution.
