A multi-jurisdictional effort between Barry and McDonald counties has resulted in the arrest of two individuals with active warrants.

On Feb. 15, acting on a tip, law enforcement officers from the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office, Goodman Police Department and Wheaton Police Department executed arrest warrants in Bethpage in McDonald County.

The two individuals arrested were Milo Crabtree, 28, and Dakota Collier, 31, both of Anderson.

Crabtree was arrested for a felony probation violation warrant out of Barry County, as well as numerous municipal warrants in Barry and McDonald Counties for failing to appear.

Collier was arrested for a felony probation violation out of McDonald County, as well as a second-degree assault warrant, also out of McDonald County, and municipal traffic warrants.

“We have a close working relationship with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office and, indeed, several Barry County deputies, as well as the Wheaton Police Chief, have been cross-commissioned to act as McDonald County Deputy Sheriffs,” said Rob Evenson, McDonald County sheriff.

“If you have warrants, hiding across county lines will not keep you from going to jail,” said Danny Boyd, Barry County sheriff, “If you have Barry County warrants, a Barry County deputy sheriff will bring you back to Cassville to have your day in court.”

Sheriffs Boyd and Evenson noted that in addition to cross-commissioning select personnel, deputies from both agencies routinely train together, detectives share crime bulletins, and the jail divisions of both agencies have agreements with each other.

“When we had a major incident earlier this year, McDonald County detectives were offered to come over and assist us in our time of need,” Boyd said. “When McDonald County needed help, it wasn’t even a question of should we help, only how much help [they needed].”

Crabtree is being held in the Barry County jail, and Collier in the McDonald County jail. Crabtree has a probation violation hearing for his felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. A probation violation hearing is set for Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge David Cole.

Collier’s probation violation in McDonald County is for charges of stealing – $750 or more, and first-degree property damage. A court date has yet to be set.
