Barry County residents may now download and sign up for the Vital ICE (In Case of Emergency) app, which may help first responders and hospital staff better assess and treat residents in cases of emergency.
White Funeral Home and Crematory is providing access to the app, which can be downloaded on smart phones at either the Apple App Store or Google Play, then by entering code: #2157.
“White Funeral Home and Crematory is making this potentially life-saving app available for free to download in the community as a way of showing their gratitude for allowing them to serve you,” a
press release said. “They recognized a very unique opportunity to assist our local first responders through an ingenious marketing initiative that could help save lives.”
Once downloaded, users may fill in the information, and in the event of an emergency, first responders can use the app to retrieve the information.
“This app is available to the entire community, regardless of age, so do not pass up this great life-saving opportunity,” the press release said.”This information can then be easily taken on the ambulance to the
hospital or sent directly to the hospital from the Vital ICE app, where emergency room staff can further access this critical information. Remember, time is of the essence when saving lives.”
