Marguriett Faye Evans, age 89, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Marguriett was born October 26, 1935 in Cato, Missouri the daughter of Marlett Tillman and Dora Mary (Black) Sturgell.
On October 16, 1953 in Cassville, Missouri she was united in marriage to Charles Freddie Evans, who preceded her in death on November 7, 1990.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Dorman, Houston, and Charles Lee Sturgell and Bill Perriman; sisters, Gwondolen “Jo” Russell and Glenna Sue Dummit; nephews, Jeff, Michael, Durand, and Tyrell Sturgell, and Ed Perriman and niece, Debra Dummit.
Surviving are one daughter, whom she loved and adored, Patricia Ann Evans of Cassville, Missouri; two brothers, Austin Sturgell and his wife Meta of Cato, Missouri and Norman Sturgell and his wife Jean of Cassville, Missouri and one sister, Frances Morgan of Kansas City, Missouri.
Marguriett grew up on the family farm in Cato, Missouri and loved it.
She was a 1953 graduate of Cassville High School. Marguriett and Freddie owned Evans plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning for over 30 years for which she served as a bookkeeper. She also owned and operated The Batting Cages and Mini-Golf in Cassville with her daughter for 20 years. She was saved and baptized in her twenties. She loved God and was a very strong Christian. She raised beef cattle with her family, enjoyed buying and selling real estate, investing in the stock market and being with her family. She was chairwoman for the Mother’s March for March of Dimes, a former member of Cassville Chamber of Commerce, and a member of Bible Baptist Church. She loved her brothers and sisters, and her nephews and nieces were bonus children to her. She was one of a kind, a prankster, and will be deeply missed.
Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor
Jason Mackey and Dr. James Russell conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in
Cassville, Missouri.
The family received friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
