The CAD events created by central dispatch are the Calls for Service Barry County Officers respond to every day, included in those calls are alarms, assaults, burglaries, domestic disturbances, DWI's, stealing, harassment, medical issues, paper service, prisoner transports, suspicious persons, traffic stops and warrant service. Mary R. “Shelly” Burwell, of Exeter, Mo., known affectionately as Shelly to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.

Paula Kay Henbest, 76, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away on May 18, 2024, surrounded by the love and support of her family. She was born April 7, 1948, in Cassville, Mo., the daughter of Paul Henbest and Margaret Culver Henbest, who preceded her in death.
amfield Jay D. Bamfield, 70, of Eagle Rock, Mo., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at his home. Born on November 5, 1953, in Salina, Kan., the son of the late Curtis and Clara (McClellan) Bamfield.

Stanley Champ “Stan” Marney, age 65, of Purdy, Missouri passed away Monday, May 20, 2024, at his home. He was born February 8, 1959, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of John and Jean (Bowman) Marney.
A string of four wrecks May 20 and May 21 in Barry County left five people injured, including two bicyclists from the Netherlands, according to multiple Missouri State Highway Patrol reports. The first wreck occurred on May 20 at 4:04 p.m.

On May 13, a judge ruled in favor of the Missouri Fertilizer Control Board (MoFCB), respondents in a case that was filed in Cole County Circuit Court in Jefferson City, by petitioners, Denali Water Solutions and Synagro Central, on July 27, 2023. Both parties to the suit submitted a request for the judge to make a summary judgment in the case, a legal right when the parties believe the facts underlying their requests are beyond dispute.
