Hitting a high note
The Monett Performing Art Center hosted the inaugural All-Big 8 Junior High Honor Band Concert on Feb. 15. Seventh- and eighth-grade students from each Big 8 Conference school were nominated by their band instructors to be a part of the event.

School bus protocol changing
The Monett School Board is putting a focus on bus safety for elementary students. At its regular February meeting, the board approved a transportation software contract to install a check-in and tracking system for elementary buses. The system will utilize swipeable badges, which children will present as they get on and off their bus.
