When Tarra Jack was informed she was going to be out of a job in a week-and-a-half, she was not sure where she would go. It was divine intervention that only a couple days later, the former Pot of Coffee assistant manager heard of a building in Cassville for sale, and the Sunshine Coffeehouse plan fell into place.

2 charged in Purdy school burglary
Two individuals have been charged in connection to an alleged burglary at the Purdy School district in April, during which cash, a ring and other items were stolen. According to a Purdy Police Department press release, on April 22 at 1:12 a.m., two suspects broke into the Purdy school building, located at 201 Gabby Gibbons Drive.
Change of assessment notices mailed
The Barry County Assessor has mailed out change of assessment notices, and taxpayers may have questions concerning these changes in assessment figures. If a taxpayer wants to challenge their change in assessed valuation, they should inquire about the issue before July 10.

Signups for the 22nd Annual OACAC Back to School Fair will be held from May 30 to June 30 by appointment only at OACAC Barry County Neighborhood Center, located at 10826 Farm Road 2172 in Cassville. Students Pre-K through 12th grade are eligible for the Fair.
