Fitzpatrick highlights work as treasurer

Former Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick, now officially sworn in as the state auditor, has reflected on his accomplishments from his four years as State Treasurer. One of the youngest to hold an elected state office, Fitzpatrick was appointed to the treasurer position in 2018, following former treasurer Eric Schmitt’s appointment to attorney general due to Josh Hawley’s election to the senate.

A Pesticide Applicator Training will be held at Cassville High School’s Agriculture Department. The training provides certification to obtain a Missouri Private Pesticide Applicators License for agricultural producers and will also count for recertification requirements by the state.

Serial business burglar faces 18 felonies

An alleged serial burglar in Cassville apprehended in December 2022 is now facing 18 felonies and 16 misdemeanors among 13 total cases in Barry County Circuit Court. Jamison Jump, 20, of Cassville, is facing nine counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of stealing, one count of tampering with a motor vehicle, one count of stealing a motor vehicle, one count of stealing a firearm, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, one count of first-degree property damage and one count of possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.

Take two for public works building

City rethinks needed facility after high construction bids The city of Cassville is making a second attempt at designing and bidding a new public works facility after bids for a proposal made last year were all rejected due to high cost. David Brock, Cassville public works director, said plans to build a new facility began in 2020, spurred by pandemic concerns due to limited space and no HVAC at the current facility.
