The Cassville Democrat is introducing live online election results for the Aug. 2 Primary Election in Missouri.

Purdy schools have approved raises for nearly half of the school staff. Following a pay scale increase for teachers last year, School Superintendent Travis Graham said he and the school board wanted to ensure that the school’s classified staff, which includes non-teaching positions like maintenance, janitorial and paraprofessionals, receive a competitive wage from the district. “We live in very volatile times and we believe it is good to pay a fair wage and we had the financial availability,” Graham said.

Delinquent tax sale upcoming The office of Barry County Collector Skyler Bowman is preparing for the annual Barry County Real Estate Delinquent Tax Sale. Missouri law requires that land with three years of delinquent taxes sell on the fourth Monday of August each year.

An Exeter woman was injured on Tuesday in a vehicle-pedestrian incident at 5:10 p.m on Route CC, approximately five miles north of Exeter.

Two people were injured in a wreck on Monday at 2:25 p.m. on Highway 37 at Route B in Purdy.

Following concerns about residents and/or visitors being irresponsible with fireworks during Purdy’s annual Independence Day celebration held on July 3 the city is looking at ways to amend its fireworks ordinance to increase safety during the event.
