Power of Pink gifts to 5 women with breast cancer
The Power of Pink has aimed to help those diagnosed with breast cancer since 2010 by not only helping them find their power, but helping with costs associated with the difficult diagnosis. Janice McCracken, founder of Power of Pink, started the organization with her husband and two daughters back in 2010, when they owned the Gizmo Event Center in Wheaton.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women, but over the years, more and more women are fighting and surviving the disease. Gayle Daniels, a 64-year-old woman living in Exeter, was first diagnosed in February 2014 — with no family history of the disease.
Cassville Mercy delivers new mammogram imaging
Women who receive their annual mammograms at Cassville Mercy Hospital are benefiting from new equipment at the facility, aiming to better- serve patients in the ongoing battle against breast cancer. Gail Pierce, with Cassville Mercy Hospital, said the new mammography unit is a Hologic Selenia Combo (dual) Imaging Unit.
