Pullin’ in cash for Keen
Kenneth Eagan, of Washburn, finished in second place in his class at the 3rd Annual Pullin’ for the People. The annual event began in 2023 to benefit Bryson Wilderbruer, who was seriously injured in a vehicle wreck. The 2024 installment benefitted Kuper Tuten, who was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was a year old. This year’s take went to Byron Keen, a local child born with hydrocephalus, a condition which causes fluid to accumulate in the brain.

Cassville student pens original children’s book, reads to summer school students
Kami Stough, incoming junior at Cassville High School, reads her published children’s book “ Just Water” to summer school students at the district on Wednesday. Stough crafter the book during a previous class assignment, and it was published through Amazon. The book, which follows the story of “Penguin” and his fear of water, is for sale for $12 per copy on Amazon at https://tinyurl.com/acp263em.

Democrat facade restoration nearing completion
The facade restoration at the Cassville Democrat building is nearing completion. Still awaiting install is the EFIS and split brick. Work is expected to be done within the next two weeks. The restoration project is in cooperation with the Cassville Community Foundation’s new Downtown Restoration Fund.
