2 Trojans trekking to state
Two Southwest High School runners have advanced to the Class 2 State Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Friday and Saturday. At the Class 2, Sectional 3 meet in Blue Eye on Saturday, senior Robert Humphries finished fourth in the mile and 2-mile at Sectional 3 at Blue Eye High School.

Jig On the Water, May 12
Roaring River is still murky and off colored, but not muddy. Water is running a nice 111 CFS right now, and fishing was good all week, with lots of quality fish were caught.

100+ attend youth camp
The Cassville football program held its annual youth camp for grades 2-5 on May 6-8, with more than 100 children participating. The camp is run by high school and middle school football coaches, as well as the high school football players. Marck Recycling sponsored the camp shirts.

Hat trick-ville
At 12-5-1 this season and 8-1-1 in its last 10 matches, the Cassville girls soccer team is seeing no shortage of success, and things coming in threes.

Cassville thinclads taking aim at state
The Cassville boys and girls track and field squads will head to Mountain Grove on Saturday, aiming to qualify to the Class 3 MSHSAA State Track and Field Championships on May 17-18 in Jefferson City.

Rose goes to Grizzlies
Cassville senior CJ Rose has been playing baseball most of his life, and he will continue to do so in the fall, as he’s signed on April 24 to pitch for Missouri State University in West Plains. Rose said it has only been the past couple years he’s gotten serious about playing collegiately, and he’s happy to make the move.

Berndt flies to CMU
It was a long time coming. Cassville senior soccer standout Emma Bernt, the new school record-holder for goals in a single season, inked her name to a letter of intent for Central Methodist University on April 26.

The river is in great condition. We are running 90 CFS right now, which isn’t bad for all the rain we’ve had in the area.

Exeter wins first Ozark 7 championship
The Exeter softball team walked off with a new title on April 16 — Ozark 7 Conference champion. The Lady Tigers (12-6) won their first ever conference hardware with an 8-7 home win over College Heights with McAuley Catholic.

Wheeler taking soccer power to Crowder
Cassville senior Ashton Wheeler may have just set a school record in long jump, but his passion for sports is taking him another direction after graduation. A three-sport athlete in soccer, football and track and field, Wheeler signed for the former on April 1, deciding to play soccer at Crowder College in Neosho.
