Cassville anglers 4th in fishing tourney
The Cassville High School fishing team hit Stockton Lake for a championship tournament recently, bringing back multiple awards, including Big Bass. The Pro-Team Association Tournament(PTA)andNational Youth Fishing Association (NYFA) Championships were held June 10-11.

58 camp with Stiles
A total of 58 campers attended the Jackie Stiles basketball camp in Cassville on June 27. Children attended from Cassville, Neosho, Branson, Mt. Vernon, Marionville, Exeter, Southwest, Wheaton, Shell Knob and Pea Ridge, Ark., among others. It was the second year for the camp, which was open this time to grades 3-12 with sponsorship by the Cassville Wildcat Basketball Boosters.

James siblings head to nationals
A Cassville teenager is showing just because she comes from a small town does not mean she can’t have a big impact. Faith James, incoming Cassville senior and prolific wrestling talent, helped Missouri USA Wrestling hoist its first ever national title, for boys or girls, at the 2023 Junior National Duals in Tulsa June 13-17.

June 28, 2023 — Water is clear and low at Roaring River at 12.5 CFS as of Sunday — the dry fly fishing is great right now. Beetles, ants, caddis, blue wing olives, cahills, griffiths gnats, and hoppers are all working right now, and the use of a 9’ 7X leader is best.

Jackie Stiles camp returns to Cassville
The Cassville Wildcat Basketball Boosters is hosting Jackie Stiles for the second time in Cassville with a basketball camp slated for June 27 at Cassville High School. Rachel Freeman, with the Boosters, said Arning put on the event last year, and since the Boosters is new this year, organizers wanted to make the camp happen again.

Jig On the Water
The river is still low and clear the CFS as of Sunday and is almost 19, so with this clear low water, anglers will want to use 2-pound line when they can. The dry fly-fishing has been fantastic using blue wing olives, elk hair caddis, parachute Adams, Griffiths gnats, beetles and ants.
