Trojans set high expectations

Southwest celebrated a historic district title on the hardwood in February, and the Trojan baseball players hope to deliver another trophy this year on the diamond. Derek Mann, Southwest baseball coach, said the team’s fall season was excellent preparation and setup for a season with a significant goal.

Scoreboard, April 5

Southwest Junior Robert Humphries won the 800-meter race in 2:12, and he was third in the mile, and three girls relays medaled at the track invitational at Diamond High School. Additionally, Humphries anchored a thirdplace finish in the 4x400 relay in 3:56, a group that included sophomore Braydan Eggleston, freshman Ivan Suchowski, and junior Ezra Sprowes.

Lady Trojans bring back experience

With six seniors and seven returning starters, the Southwest softball team is hoping to use maturity and experience to find success under a a first-year head coach this season. Emily Snyder, Southwest softball coach, said 10 total letterwinners return to the squad this season, and she is excited to get her first head coaching season going.

Scoreboard, March 29

The Cassville girls soccer team (3-2) won one and lost one over the weekend at the Greenwood Classic. The Lady Wildcats fell to West Plains, 3-0, then bounced back with a 1-0 win over Aurora.
