The Cassville girls soccer team (3-2) won one and lost one over the weekend at the Greenwood Classic. The Lady Wildcats fell to West Plains, 3-0, then bounced back with a 1-0 win over Aurora.

Wildcats return state relay team, high jumper
The Cassville boys track team can run more than three deep across the track this season, with 29 total members aiming to qualify more athletes to state than in 2022. Clay Weldy, Cassville boys track coach, said distance running and the high jump will be the Wildcats’ strongest events, but there is room throughout the program for success.

Tigers keep eyes ahead
Setting goals and achieving them are two different animals, and the Exeter boys basketball team hopes with experience gained this season that difference will shrink. The Tigers (4-21) fought through 17 losses before putting up a 58-48 win over equal-record Hurley on Feb.

The Cassville girls soccer team went 2-1 over the weekend at the Cassville Kickoff Classic, opening the season with a runner- up finish in the tournament. The Lady Wildcats began the tournament with a 2-0 victory over Aurora, with goals by Gracen Hilburn and Emma Burndt.

Cassville turns in back-to-back .500 seasons
For two years in a row, the Cassville girls basketball team has been at exactly .500, and with a few key pieces graduating this year, the team aims to keep pace in coming seasons. Clayton Bagby, Cassville girls basketball coach, said when he started the job last summer, goals were tough to set.

Cassville girls soccer team keeping chemistry strong A pride point for the Cassville girls soccer team is the chemistry between members, built over five years of positive reinforcement and allowing the team to reload with multiple starters and a full team of letterwinners returning. Jake Forste, Cassville soccer coach, said the Lady Wildcats, coming off a 9-14 season last year, hope to play to their strengths this season.
