Softball Coach Lori Videmschek is 15 wins away from the 500 mark and has won a state title with Purdy, but if you ask her the most important thing about her job, her answer won’t be how many wins she has amassed or what titles she’s won.

This season has been as kind as it has been unkind for the Cassville boys basketball team. The Wildcats (6-7) are shaking off the holiday rust and focusing in on a conference and district slate that mirror one another, aiming to take a high seed into the postseason.

The Trojans overcame Diamond in the title match, 78-54, led by MVP Lucas Paulsen and surrounded with story lines and history that will leave their marks on the proud program.

For the second consecutive year, Cassville met Gentry (Ark.) in the title game at the Southwest Holiday Tournament, and for the second consecutive time, the Lady Wildcats hoisted the second-place trophy. The Lady Pioneers put the game out of reach early, sinking 12 total 3-pointers in the first half and another 4 in the second to defeat Cassville, 65-20.
