The Cassville football team used big plays and stifling defense to produce a 35-0 victory over East Newton on the road Friday.

The Cassville girls golf team hosted a 9-school tournament on Thursday, with Joplin taking first place in the team scores with a 402, and Cassville second with a 409. Individually, Avery Chappell took first place, and Gracie Harmon medaled by taking eighth. On Aug. 30, Chappell and the Lady Wildcats competed in the Reed Spring tournament, with the junior state placer last year shooting a 77 to take 3rd out of about 80 golfers. The tournament was held at theThousand Hills Golf club in Branson.
