Cassville girls soccer team keeping chemistry strong A pride point for the Cassville girls soccer team is the chemistry between members, built over five years of positive reinforcement and allowing the team to reload with multiple starters and a full team of letterwinners returning. Jake Forste, Cassville soccer coach, said the Lady Wildcats, coming off a 9-14 season last year, hope to play to their strengths this season.

Wildcats reflect on year of leadership, growth
Defense has been the ticket all season for Cassville, allowing less than 50 points per game on average, but the train line came to a stop last week against an Aurora team with a hot second half of shooting.

Wheaton grows with size challenge
ktroutman@cassville-democrat.com The tallest Wheaton girls basketball player this season was only 5-4, but the Lady Bulldogs did not let age or size challenges squash their growth on the court this season. Finishing at 5-22, Wheaton Coach Jessica Dermott said a squad of only seven players, three of whom were freshmen, met many individual goals and continued to improve through the season.

All local basketball teams’ seasons ended in the last two weeks. Exeter’s boys and girls fell in the opening rounds of the Class 1, District 4 tournaments.
