Cassville teachers celebrate year’s end with games, awards

Exeter bands reel in 1s
On April 1, the Exeter High School Band participated in the Missouri Small School Band Directors Association evaluative festival in Lamar, receiving a 1, or exemplary, rating from all three judges. It is the first Exemplary rating at festival in at least 20 years for a band from Exeter.

Elementary Beta members compete at state
A total of 36 Elementary Beta members represented Cassville Intermediate School and competed in various events at the Missouri Beta Convention. Cassville club members earned five first-place awards and eight top-five awards. The following members received invitations to compete at the National Elementary Beta Convention in Nashville, Tenn., in June:

Cassville athletes rake in awards
Fall sports have given way to winter games, and the final lists of postseason accolades for football, softball, boys soccer, volleyball, cross country, and girls golf have all been finalized.

Purdy students Shine at MSSU Media Showcase
Students taking classes in business technology, multimedia, and yearbook were invited to submit their work to the annual Southern Media Showcase hosted by Missouri Southern State University on April 16. This competition draws students from large schools all over Southwest Missouri, including Joplin, Webb City, Carthage and Nixa.

Cassville students receive MAP awards for 2024 scores
Cassville Middle School student Bear Lackey receives a MAP testing proficiency award from Principal Samantha Cosper. The grades 6-8 school held an ice cream social on April 28 for students who earned advanced or proficient on their 2024 MAP testing.
