I plan on going through the jail every day to speak with the employees, and see how they are doing. I plan on going into each dayroom at least once a week with the jail administrator, to speak with the inmates to see what complaints or suggestions they may have.

Lacey is an adorable and fun mixed-breed pup. She likes to play and get the attention of humans. She is good with other dogs and kids. Her date of birth is Jan. 19. She is white with brown and black on her face. Lacey will be fixed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and ready to go home with her new family on July 3. Half-price adoptions continue through the month of June.

Conference champs want to get back to state

There was nothing the Purdy senior softball players wanted more this year than to return to the Class 1 state tournament. Freshmen when the Lady Eagles won the state title in 2021, Purdy’s seniors this year came as close as they could to a state run, falling to Ash Grove, 4-3, on a walk-off in the district championship bout.

Home school co-op celebrates first semester

The SHINE Ozarks Co-op held its open house and end of semester celebration on May 21st. The group, comprised of mainly Barry County residents, has 25 families enrolled and held its first semester in the spring. Five local homeschool mothers started the co-op to give families the opportunity for community while homeschooling. The group thanks First Baptist Church in Cassville and Washburn First Baptist Church for facility use.
