Shiveley thanked for 13 years of mayoral service to city

Barry Electric hosts 78th Annual Meeting
The Flatlander Mountain Boys performed on Thursday at the Barry Electric Cooperative Annual Meeting. Band members performing bluegrass tunes included, from left, Deven Beckett on vocals and mandolin, Noah Stogdill on guitar and Evan Reed on banjo. The band’s fourth member, Carter Russell, was unable to attend.

Flooding prompts pair of rescues
The Barry County Swiftwater Rescue Team was involved in a pair of rescues on Sunday, one just outside Cassville and the other in rural Wheaton.

Robinson honored as Centennial Medalist
On April 8, the University of Miami (FL) awarded Russell Robinson the Centennial Medalist award. He received his MM (1980) and PhD (1984) at UM and retired from the University of Florida in 2016 after 32 years as Emeritus Professor and Head of Music Education. The event, which included an induction ceremony, concerts, gala and more, was to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Frost School of Music and the University of Miami.
