Truck & Tractor Pull benefits Shrine

For the fifth consecutive year, the Stumpff Family Event Center has donated 10% of the gate proceeds from the Barry County Truck & Tractor Pull to the Shell Knob Shrine. All funds donated go to the children’s burn center and patient travel expenses. Organizers Donnie and Teresa Stumpff thank the event’s attendees, participants and sponsors.

Community Care Coalition takes shape

In a strategic move to adapt to the evolving landscape of community services, the former affiliate of Imagination Library, Barry County has rebranded itself as the Community Care Coalition, Barry County. The transition began amid the statewide rollout of the Imagination Library program by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Kyle Troutman: A worthy and colorful cause

Inever ceased to be amazed by the extent and variety of our local philanthropic organizations. From the Cassville Education Fund’s support of our school teachers to the Cassville Community Foundation’s support of all things Cassville and Roaring River and the Soroptimist Club’s support of local women to the Cassville Rotary Club’s support of the Cassville community — and many, many more organizations I don’t have all the space to name — there is no shortage of neighbors helping neighbors in our slice of southwest Missouri.

100+ Women expands reach

The Monett Museum witnessed a gathering of community-minded women on May 2, as the second quarter meeting of the local 100+ Women organization took place. The event featured presentations from Katie Dillman, of Make Our Day, and Amy Sampson, representing the Monett Historical Society.
