City amasses 20K cubic yards of storm debris

West of the Cassville airport, a visual reminder of the power of Mother Nature is piled high, and the city is trying to determine how to deal with it. At a special debris collection site, David Brock, Cassville public works administrator, said the pile of trees and limbs is about 20,000 cubic feet, and he expects another 5,000 to 10,000 cubic feet is still sitting on private property in the Cassville area.

Trees planted at county courthouse

The Barry County Extension Board and the Cassville Area Chamber of Commerce purchased dogwood and redbud trees for the Barry County Courthouse yard. The trees were planted by the Cassville FFA (advisor Jordan Ellis), and Extension Board Member David Samuel coordinated the tree purchase and planting, trees and mulch from Harvick Farms. FFA students who participated in planting and mulching included: Rebekah Fry, Hanna Blankenship, Joei Blankenship, Taylor Yarnall, Graci Maher, Will Brooks, Jaret Hinson, Brandon Alley, Tierany Sloan and Carlee Mitchell.
